We always have time for new patients in Cobham

At Beech House Dental Practice, with our dentist in Cobham, we have been treating families for over 60 years! We have heavily invested in the latest technology, ensuring that your every comfort is catered for, both in the chair and out of it. An example of one of our treatments that uses the latest technology is Invisalign. This treatment is used to correct alignment problems, such as crossbite, gapped or crowded teeth, and under or overbite. Our dentist in Cobham could get you a beautiful smile in just 6 to 18 months on average, in a discreet way, without any fuss!

How Invisalign works

If you want to get your teeth realigned but don’t want other people to know that you’re having treatment for this very thing, then Invisalign could be the system for you! The process consists of aligners produced from transparent plastic, so when placed over the teeth, your teeth should be the only thing other people will notice. The aligners apply varying amounts of pressure to your teeth to move them into their targeted positions. You will have to use different aligners every couple of weeks, and we will give you enough aligners for six weeks. After this, you will need to see us and have a check-up, where we will provide you with another batch of aligners to take away with you until the next check-up.

Will they be uncomfortable?

The great thing about Invisalign is that it promises maximum comfort. We use an iTero digital scan to obtain the measurements of your mouth to have the aligners made bespoke for you. This means that they should be as comfortable as possible when worn. The aligners will sit on the gum line snugly, and although you will feel some initial minor discomfort as you get used to the new pressure, this should quickly pass and never be painful.

How long do I need to wear the aligners?

You will need to wear the aligners for 22 hours a day, meaning you will have a couple of hours to remove them while eating food and cleaning your teeth. This will allow you to continue to eat all the foods you love, and you won’t need to worry about cleaning your aligners afterwards. Also, nothing will be in your mouth to interfere with your oral hygiene routine – it couldn’t be simpler! What’s more, you should also have some time to keep them out whilst playing your favourite sport or the trumpet, whatever you want to do is up to you!
